IKEA Comforter Set Reviews

Ikea offers great bargains on household goods, including bedding. This is a list of the best value Ikea comforters. Be sure to read through the review and decide which of the following is going to work best for your bedding needs.

Ikea Thin Comforter

This is one of the Ikea's best selling comforters. It is extra thin, great for warm bedrooms. Because this thin comforter has less filling, it is cheaper than other comforters of equal quality. The filling in polyester, making this great for anyone who worries about allergies or dust. This also means that the comforter is easy to care for. You can machine wash it.

This is great for hot bed rooms. If you live somewhere warm, or have a warm bedroom, this thin comforter is going to serve you well.

With that being said, be aware, this is a thin comforter. And when we say thin, we mean it. Do not expect a full fluffy comforter. Also, be aware that this is polyester, which is not as breathable as natural fibers. That being said, for a little over $20 you can't really complain. This comforter have a great price.

Ikea Sotvedel Extra Warm Down Comforter

This comforter is almost the opposite of the previously listed comforter. This is an extra warm down comforter. If you get cold at night or live in a cold location, this is a quality down comforter for a good price. The fabric is 100% cotton, meaning all the materials are natural, breathable and sustainable. It has a 252 thread count, which is more than sufficient for a comforter. Comforters should be placed inside a duvet cover anyway.

As anyone knows, down is superior to all other fibers when it comes to trapping heat while staying breathable. This is why down comforters normally cost hundreds of dollars.

Note that the fill is 75% duck down, 25% duck feathers. This is pure down and will not have the same quality as a pure down comforter. But Ikea is not known for being top of the line quality. Ikea gives you good quality at a great price. If you want true luxury you should look at brands other than Ikea.

Ikea Warm Down Comforter

This is the same comforter as the Ikea extra warm comforter. The difference is that this one comes with less fill and therefor is a bit less warm. Using a bit less fill also means that this comforter is a bit cheaper than the "extra warm" version.

Ikea Blekvide Comforter

Ikea is a Swedish company, and they have a Swedish name for their products. The Blekvide comforter is a quality poly-cotton filled comforter that comes in a few different warmth varieties. The cooler version has a bit less fill, while the warmer version has more fill and costs a little bit extra. The fill is 65% polyester and 35% cotton with a polyester outside.

This comforter is machine washable and easy to care for. It is especially great for guest bedrooms.

Ikea Feather Comforter

The Honsbar comforter is mostly feathers with some down. 90% feathers and 10% down. This is a common ratio for lower end "down" comforters. The natural fill breathes well and is pleasant to sleep under, but feathers are not the same thing as down. This comforter is actually machine washable.

In terms of quality, I would recomend spending the money and getting the Ikea comforters that come with 75% down. Though they do cost more, comforters with a larger ratio of down are noticeably fluffier, softer, and more pleasant to sleep under.

All of these are good quality comforters that Ikea sells for a great price. They are not top of the line, but no Ikea items are top of the line. That is not their demographic.
